Katy’s Place is a unique counselling space created for those moments in life when things feel uncertain, confusing, or overwhelming. You don’t need to have the “right words” or a clear reason to come. You might just know that something doesn’t feel quite right and you’re tired of carrying it alone. At Katy’s Place, you are met with kindness, respect, and without judgement. You are very welcome here, however you are feeling, whatever you are experiencing.
FREE Discovery Call: An initial 20-minute discovery call for us to test the water and see if we are a good working fit for therapeutic work.
Emotional and physical wellbeing are closely connected. Life’s challenges can affect not only our thoughts and emotions, but also how we experience and feel within our bodies.
Have a constant knot in your stomach, persistent lump in your throat, nagging headache that won’t shift? Counselling at Katy’s Place is uniquely positioned to support mental and emotional processing in a way that is contained and supportive for the client.
Whether you are navigating stress, anxiety, grief, loss, trauma, overwhelm, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or persistent health concerns, I can offer you an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with what matters most to you.
I have an integrative humanistic approach to counselling. This means that our sessions together are highly person-centred with the whole you at the centre of our work. If you choose to, we may work on how different aspects of your mental, emotional, and physical, and spiritual wellbeing interact with each other. If one of these is off-kilter, it often creates a ripple effect across the whole person.
Katy’s Place is a a space where you can safely explore, untangle or gain clarity about your thoughts and feelings. The pace of this process is led by you and I will be alongside you every session, without pressure or expectation. Together, we gently make sense of what’s going on for you—helping you feel heard, supported, and more connected to yourself.
I work in a way that is:
I am an Integrative Therapeutic Counsellor, meaning I am trained in many modalities, and can offer a truly personalised approach. Right from your first session, you are in safe hands as I closely guide you through the therapeutic process.
Mutual respect and non-judgement are key elements in how I practice. There is never an apology necessary for bringing the authentic version of you. Whatever brings you here, you are welcome as exactly as you are, without judgement, with warmth, and compassion.
There is no “fixing” here—just the support you deserve, space, and interaction with a compassionate human being.
Counselling at Katy’s Place is uniquely positioned – I am a BACP Registered counsellor and also an ITEC qualified Holistic Therapist with over 10 years of experience in the Wellbeing industry.
Together, these qualifications and skills allows for a more integrated understanding of health, healing, and wholeness.
This integrated approach champions that wellbeing is not simply the absence of illness, but cultivation of balance across physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of life.
Understanding a person as a whole helps to create a deeper awareness of how each person uniquely responds to their environment, outwardly and internally.
Confidentiality: I work with all clients using a strict Confidentiality and Respectfulness Policy, which includes necessary and important GDPR adherence and essential Safeguarding considerations.

Qualifications: I am a BACP Registered counsellor and engage in regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) training to continue to strengthen my knowledge of the human condition: and relationships we have of the self, with others and how we feel as a part of a wider interconnected society.
My work as a Complementary Therapist quickly taught me that while clients may arrive at the treatment room with specific ailments to be “treated”, sometimes these physiological symptoms are clues to a deeper-rooted emotion, which the body is holding, waiting to be processed.
This is why I became a BACP qualified Counsellor and created Katy’s Place. I realised that while I could support clients to identify emotional blocks, I needed the skills to safely work at a deeper level to support the client in a truly holistic way.
I have worked with a vast array of clients, from those feeling burned out from work, on sick leave because of stress and overwhelm and people living with complex health concerns, to survivors of war, and military families who have endured unique bereavement. In every scenario, I have seen the positive and profound effect of care and connection.
Whatever brings you to counselling, you are not a problem to be fixed, you are a person navigating something difficult. If you would like to work with me, I am here when you’re ready.
